Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and music producer. Sara Ramirez was raised by her American mother and faced a lot racial taunts, which made her feel unwelcome. In her 9th year that she started to feel more confident after receiving a rousing ovation at an audition. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She attended New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. The character of The lad from The Lake became her most memorable success, and earned an award for her performance, the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her performance. Later in the same year she appeared on the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider appreciation for her performance. A well-known performer, she has also released both a song and a play. In addition, she's an activist who is active for LGBT rights.
